October 4th, 2026 Restraining Self While Waiting for God | 1 Samuel 24 Using discernment to realize what God has promised "He said to his men, 'The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.' With these words David sharply rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul." — 1 Samuel 24:6–7 🙏 CONNECT WITH US We would love to meet you and hear your story! Restraining Self While Waiting for God | 1 Samuel 24
September 27, 2026 1 SAMUEL 21–23: SUSTAINED BY GOD IN THE WILDERNESS 1. The Wilderness as a Crucible, Not Abandonment • David lives between promise and fulfillment—called, yet displaced; chosen, yet pursued. • The wilderness is not abandonment, but a crucible where calling is clarified and character is formed. • God does not merely deliver David from dangers; He sustains him through provision, guidance, protection, and covenant relationships. 2. Grace Over Flawless Performance • In desperate hunger, David receives holy bread at Nob. Fear leads him to deception and feigning madness in Gath, yet God still provides. • Divine faithfulness rests on God’s covenant purpose rather than flawless performance. • Preservation does not always look heroic; sometimes mercy appears as quiet restraint when fear clouds judgment. 3. From Isolation to Shepherding Community • In the cave of Adullam, David gathers with the distressed, indebted, and discontented. • What looks like a band of misfits becomes the seedbed of future leaders. • God shapes David by teaching him to shepherd wounded and uncertain people through shared hardship rather than private strength. 4. Daily Dependence and Covenant Support • David constantly inquires of the Lord before acting; yesterday's guidance is not enough for today's danger. • Dependence replaces self-reliance step by step. • Jonathan comes alongside David to strengthen his hand in God and remind him of the promise when circumstances contradict it. 5. Sovereign, Precise Timing • When Saul closes in, a providential Philistine raid diverts the king at the final moment. • Deliverance arrives late enough to deepen trust, but early enough to prevent ruin. • The wilderness does not derail God’s promise; it prepares David to bear it. Key Scriptures: • Matthew 4:4 – "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." • 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 – "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed..." • Christological Connection: Like David, Jesus was rejected, hunted, and familiar with the wilderness, yet fully sustained by the Father. 🙏 CONNECT WITH US We would love to meet you and hear your story! Covenant Friendship in Hostile Times - God uses relationships to sustain us. | 1 Samuel 20
September 13, 2026 "Whatever mission Saul sent him on, David was so successful that Saul gave him a high rank in the army... When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing... Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly." — 1 Samuel 18:5–8 As God’s favor becomes unmistakable, Saul’s insecurity turns to hostility. Yet amid plots, pursuit, and peril, God preserves David through covenant relationships, moral integrity, and divine intervention. In this message covering 1 Samuel 18–19, we explore the reality that opposition is often the companion of faithfulness. God's calling often brings resistance—deep opposition often reveals divine presence in the life of the believer. Join us as we examine how to remain faithful under pressure, why trying to manipulate God always backfires, and how God’s sovereign providence actively shields His servants through both ordinary friendships and supernatural means. 📝 MESSAGE NOTES & KEY POINTS 1. God’s Favor Becomes Public God’s favor starts at the level of the heart, not actions. As God blesses your life, expect fallout. Others will not be happy. 2. Opposition Fueled by Fear and Envy Resistance reveals more about the hearts of others than the character of the one being opposed. Deep opposition often reveals divine presence in the life of the believer. 3. Faithfulness Under Pressure Faithfulness in adversity magnifies God’s purposes rather than diminishing them. Trying to manipulate God to act will always backfire. 4. God’s Protection Through Covenant and Courage God assures His sovereign purpose through means both ordinary and supernatural. Providence plays out for our protection. 🕒 TIMESTAMPS 0:00 – Introduction & Welcome 09:30 – Worship & Opening Prayer 20:34 – God’s Favor Becomes Public 24:36 – Opposition Fueled by Fear and Envy 29:17 – Faithfulness Under Pressure 36:54 – God’s Protection Through Covenant and Courage 48:20 – Summary & Weekly Challenge 1:02:00 – Closing Prayer & Ministry Time 📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE Main Text: 1 Samuel 18:1–19:24 Key Verse: "In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him." When God’s Favor Attracts Opposition: God’s calling often brings resistance | 1 Samuel 18–19
August 6, 2026 "David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.'" — 1 Samuel 17:45 📝 MESSAGE NOTES & KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. The Giant That Silences God’s People The size of the problem does not matter. Remember the size of your God. This knowledge replaces fear with faith. The greatest tragedy is having the strength and authority to act but remaining paralyzed. 2. A Shepherd’s Holy Indignation Anchor your faith in His character and covenant, not in your abilities. Courage begins with proper concern for God’s glory (doxological priority). 3. Faith Refuses Borrowed Armor Faith stands ready to act when others fear. Faith does not rely on imitation, but trust. Victories are won through dependence upon God, not appearance or artificial methods. 4. Victory Belongs to the Lord The purpose of the fight is God’s glory, not the victory. Giants fall, not because we are strong, but because God is faithful. 🙏 CONNECT WITH US We would love to meet you and hear your story! Faith That Defies Giants: God’s Honor Fuels Courageous Faith | 1 Samuel 17
Aug 30th 2026 God Looks at the Heart | God's view o who He can use differs from ours | 1 Samuel 16 Contrary to human expectations, God bypasses the impressive and selects the overlooked shepherd boy, David. While the world evaluates leaders by strength, visibility, and outward appearance, God looks directly at the condition of the heart. Even in seasons of discouragement or obscurity, God is working behind the scenes—preparing, calling, and empowering those who serve Him in humility. KEY TAKEAWAYS God Redirects the Discouraged: Human failures should never keep us from faith. God’s kingdom advances even when we fall, and major spiritual transitions begin with divine initiative. God Rejects External Metrics: Humans evaluate by visibility, looks, and likes—God evaluates leaders by the heart. God’s Choice Often Appears Insignificant: God’s favor is often overlooked by people, but being unseen does not mean being unprepared. Faithfulness in obscurity precedes fruitfulness in prominence. God Anoints According to the Heart: Calling is affirmed through God’s empowering Spirit. An immediate calling does not mean immediate placement, but God equips those He calls. A Tale of Two Spirits: Stepping into roles without God’s presence leads to instability. Serving in humility always precedes divine placement. WEEKLY CHALLENGE & PRAYER Take time this week to reflect on the contrast between Saul and David, remembering that the Spirit of God is our true empowering factor. Make this your prayer: "Lord, please bring humility into my life. Help me to serve without restraint that I may become what You intend me to be, and accomplish what You intend for me to do." 🙏 CONNECT WITH US We would love to meet you and hear your story!
